I think that the biggest change that appeared during th classical period was that civilizations advanced from small independant countries to large somewhat connected civilizations. Although large, these civilizations did not share borders so they were able to form their own unique cultures while at the same time being close enough to trade and exchange ideas. Also, when one civilization would take over large portions of land for a little while the two separate cultures would mix.

ben, i think that this entry is really good. i agree with your idea of even though the civilizations did not share borders so they would have their own cultures. i think the points your brought up were very good.
I agree with what you said about each civilization having the ability to form their own cultures. Your other points were really good, too. (:
